Blackbird on tomato.

This make-do is sitting on an old silver- plate goblet.

There are eight little tomatoes surrounding it.

Little black beads adorn the embroidery.

This make-do combines antique and new fabrics.

This butter mold has an unusual, beautiful design

of a bird and flowers on both sides.

It is made of tin.

The bird and pincushion are made from antique textured linen.

I call this one "French Strawberry"

It got it's name, because the base is

a wooden mortar, and is signed...

"Made in France"

I also attached a bee (very French), which is made of wax.

This strawberries combines new and vintage fabrics.

All the strawberries are embroidered.

It has it's own scissor fob.

The little holder is a thimble keep.

The leaves are vintage velvet.

Both the scissor and thimble are vintage.

Peter Rabbit

This sweet little fellow is made from linen,

sitting on a pin cushion that is also made from linen.

He has a carrot scissor fob and a little

wooden egg that opens up.

The little egg just pulls apart to reveal a tiny old thimble,

which is laying next to a vintage scissor.

I gave him plenty of carrots to keep him happy.

Blue strawberries.

This make-do is made from all antique and vintage fabrics.

It had 18 small strawberries in three sizes.

You might remember the little pewter cup from my

last antiquing trip.

It has the date 1933 embossed on it.

This is one of the sweetest make-do's

I have ever made.

I love the little dove made from

off-white wool with its over dyed

wool wings and tail.

The pin cushion was part of the same

fabric...just a deeper color.

I am always amazed how this is done.

I put my little dove in a wool nest, for which I

gathered and braided fabric strips and different wool.

I crochet her little thimble keep.

She is nesting on a screw topped tin canister.

Six tiny little strawberries are attached to

the pin cushion.

The thimble is very old and about 1/2" big.

You can unscrew the canister by holding the

canister top underneath with your left hand,

and turning the canister with your right.

I have filled it with vintage sewing notions.

This little treasure measures 8 1/4" tall.

Heart in hand is made from all linen, old and new.

The six strawberries are made from old

JUST IN THE NICK OF TIME

"Evi's Santa"

Although I love all my Santa's,

the ones I seem to love the most,

are the white ones.

That is why I named him " Evi's Santa".

He has a kind face with a beautiful

curly wool beard.

I made the face from paper clay,

painted and antiqued.

Santa is dressed in a coat made from

an antique wool blanket,

that my friend Laura@52 flea

gave me.

(Thank you again, Laura.)

He also brings a perfect "feather" tree.

And he carries wonderful toys in an

antique berry basket.

We made his little Noah's Ark,

something we do for all our Santa's.

Hubby cuts them out, I paint them.....team work.

Another little toy I always make,

is a little doll to steal the heart of

any little girl that has been good.

The little dolly is made from paper clay.

And for any good little boy, there is a horse to ride on.

Sweet, kind Margaretta.

These are made from velvet, wool and linen.

There is lovely detailing on the skirt.

Can you imagine wearing such pretty

undies under your clothing...and nobody to see it!

I just cannot get enough of her !!!

She even has strawberries on a ribbon

tied to her neck.

Verbena can enchant you too.

Agatha and Snitch

As you might have noticed before,

I like my witches to be nice.

The world is scary enough, and I don't

want to add to that.

So, my witches seldom cast bad spells.

They are happy being good natured witches.

Agatha is wearing a skirt made

from vintage silk.

Her jacket is also made from antique fabric

and of course she is sporting a matching hat.

Agatha's head and shoulder plate

are hand-molded over fabric

from paper-clay, painted and antiqued.

She has wonderful hand-dyed mohair hair.

Now Snitch is a whole lot of trouble.

a handful.

Of course she dressed him to match her outfit.

little black beads attached.

She always travels with her pumpkin.

It can hold goodies for Snitch or not.

Depends on how he behaves.

This strawberry Make-Do is 11" high.
It is made from hand-over dyed wool.
The strawberry sits on an old spool.
Small black beads are sewn on all over
the strawberry.
The leaves of the strawberry are
cut green cotton.

This little strawberry pin keep is made
from homespun rough cotton and has
an antique velvet insert to keep your
needles safe.

Here it shows the pin keep closed.
When closed you can also see the
pretty top of the strawberry made
from antique fabric.

Each little strawberry is made from
different fabric, antique velvet,
homespun silk and coarse-woven cotton.

wonderful antique trim hand stitched
around it.

base of this Make-Do really is.
I don't know much about the base, but it is
old and has a tulip carved into the wood.

Here I give you my heart!
It stands about 11 1/2" tall with a base
that used to be a spool, I believe meant
for weaving.
The heart itself is made from this
wonderful rough woven cotton.
I embroidered around it with a natural
linen thread and added the words
with a finer linen thread.
The small pin keep heart ties together
with silk ribbon.

This little heart is a pin keep with a velvet
insert to keep your needles safe.

hand-crochet thimble keep.
I made it out of dark brown
cotton yarn.

while her body is made from fabric, which is painted.
